Privacy Policy

Who this covers

This policy applies to myliqa.com and to the invitation pages we host for our hosts. It covers two kinds of people: hosts, who create an account and build an event, and guests, who receive an invitation link and reply to it.

What we collect

• Account details — your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store your password in a readable form.
• Event details — the names of the people being celebrated, the date, time, timezone, venue, address, your message to guests, schedule items, chosen theme, and any cover or letter image you upload.
• Guest details you provide — the names, and where you add them, email addresses and phone numbers of the people you invite.
• Replies — whether a guest is attending, when they responded, and when their invitation or reminder was sent.
• Technical basics — a session cookie that keeps you logged in, and ordinary server logs needed to run and secure the service.

We do not run advertising trackers, we do not sell data, and we do not build profiles of your guests.

Why we collect it

• To create your account and let you sign back in.
• To build and display your invitation, including the personal link each guest opens.
• To send the emails you ask us to send: invitations, reminders, and password resets.
• To show you who has replied and keep your guest list current.
• To keep the service secure, diagnose problems, and prevent abuse.

Hosts and guests

Guest information belongs to the host who entered it. The host decides who is invited and what details are stored; we hold and process that information on their behalf so the invitation and replies work. If you are a guest and want your details changed or removed, the quickest route is to ask your host — and you can always write to us instead.

Services we rely on

We use a small number of trusted providers to run Liqa. They only receive what they need to do their job:

• Neon — hosts the database where your account, event, and guest records are stored.
• Resend — delivers invitation, reminder, and password-reset emails.
• Cloudinary — stores and delivers the cover and letter images you upload.
• Our hosting provider — serves the website and invitation pages.

Cookies

Liqa uses essential cookies only. A session cookie keeps you signed in while you work on an event, and a small preference is stored in your browser to remember whether invitation sounds are muted. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep things

We keep your account and events for as long as your account is open, so you can look back at a celebration afterwards. When you ask us to delete an event or your account, we remove the associated records, including guest details and replies, from our live systems, and they fall out of routine backups shortly after.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct something that is wrong, export your guest list, or delete your account entirely. Write to olayinkadoha@gmail.com from the address on your account and we will respond within a few days.

Security

Connections to Liqa are encrypted in transit, passwords are hashed, and invitation links use long random tokens so they cannot be guessed. Please treat your invitation links as private — anyone holding a link can view that invitation and reply to it.

Children

Liqa is not intended for children. Accounts are for adults, though children may of course appear as named guests on a family invitation.

Where your data lives

Our providers operate data centres in several countries, so your information may be stored or processed outside the country you live in. Wherever it sits, this policy still applies.

Changes to this policy

As Liqa adds features, this policy will be updated and the effective date above will change. For meaningful changes we will also email account holders.
